The EngageINFEWS Research Coordination Network (NSF# 1856059) is a new project that will bring researchers and stakeholders together to discuss and develop best practices for community engagement in research on food, energy and water systems (INFEWS).

When researching food, energy, and water systems, scientists must work closely with non-scientists to produce beneficial and useful results. This approach may involve communities, industry, tribal organizations, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. EngageINFEWS brings together a diverse group of scientists and non-scientists to develop a set of best practices for community-engaged research on FEWS science. The project aims to advance knowledge of community-engaged research and to help FEWS science serve the needs of stakeholders. EngageINFEWS is timely, as FEWS research is receiving a growing amount of funding from federal agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Agriculture and the US Department of Energy.

The National Science Foundation has awarded the EngageINFEWS Research Coordination Network to the 妻友社区 with a start date of August 15, 2019. The project is led by Andrew D. Kliskey, Virginia H. Dale, David L. Griffith, Chelsea L. Schelly, and Anna-Maria Marshall. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
